Alternate Definitions
Alternate definitions only appear if they are turned on for the current lexicon. An alternate definition is an alternative to an item's primary definition. It is optional and can be used however you like. One suggested use is for early language learners who become advanced over time. In this situation, you might start a lexicon by composing lexical item definitions in your native language. But as you progress you might decide you want to define items in the language you're learning. Rather than replace all lexical item definitions, you may turn on this feature, keep the original native definitions intact, and add alternate definitions in the target language at your own pace. It's up to you.
As your lexicon contains more and more alternate definitions you can choose to use them in tests that use definitions within questions. In such tests a question is constructed using an alternate definition if one exists for the item. If not, the test reverts to using the primary definition.
