Region Conflict
When importing a lexical item plx file it's possible that some item definitions contain geographical regions assigned to them. If so then the program tries to find a similarly defined region within your lexicon. It does this by searching for a region with the same name. If none is found then the import process will pause to display the Unknown Region dialog which presents you 3 options for resolving the problem.
- Create the region within your lexicon.
- Use an existing region in place of the one being imported. This means that any lexical item definitions that use the missing region will be reassigned another region of your choosing that is already in your lexicon.
- Skip the region, meaning that all links it has to lexical item definitions will not be included when importing items.
Once you've selected the appropriate option, clicking Continue will proceed with the import. Note that csv files ignore regions contained in definitions so you will never seen this dialog when importing csv files.
